Abstract
Biocompatible hydrogels with high stability and performance have attracted growing interest due to their unique properties and wide applicability in fields such as medicine, drug delivery systems, and tissue engineering. In this study, poly vinyl alcohol, borax and poly amidoamone dendrimer-incorporated hydrogels were designed with the aim of enhancing their structural and functional properties. Water retention capacity, assessed through weight loss measurements over time, indicated that the addition of dendrimers led to an approximately 20% increase in moisture retention. Rheological analysis under frequency sweep conditions showed a significant increase in the storage modulus of dendrimer-containing samples—up to 25,000 Pa compared to samples without dendrimers—and a shift in the crossover point to lower frequencies, suggesting the formation of a more densely cross-linked network. These results were further supported by FTIR spectroscopy, which confirmed an increase in cross-linking density due to the presence of dendrimers. Overall, the findings demonstrate that dendrimer incorporation can significantly enhance the performance of hydrogels, making them more suitable for biomedical applications. This study effectively highlights the synergistic role of dendrimers in the development of advanced functional materials.
